This is a bridge in Paris. You hang locks on it with the name of you & your boyfriend/girlfriend/best-friend then throw the key into the river. So even though the friend/relationship may end, you can’t remove the lock. It stays there forever, as relevance to someone once a part of your life.
I think this is so great because when you really loved someone, even if you don’t anymore, it never goes away. If I ever am “completely over” someone that I was in love with or “don’t care” about what we used to have anymore, please slap me right across the face because I will have obviously become a cynical fucker. Brushing off someone you were in love with or the relationship you had with them is one of the easiest ways to tell that you’ve been corrupted I think. It’s like you don’t believe in love anymore.
So yeah, I still think about the person I was in love with and I really hope that he’s happy. I still remember what we had and I still care about it, and it makes me happy to know that it’s possible to be as happy and in love as I was. I never want to turn my back on it.
